A537 CL2 steel plate is a heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate. A537 CL2 steel plate is a heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate for American standard pressure vessels.

It is divided into three grades, namely A537 CL1, A537 CL2 and A537 CL3. Sometimes it is also written or read as SA537 CL1, SA537 CL2, SA537 CL3. SA is the ASME standard. S means asme and A means ferrous metal, which is similar to ASTM.

A537 CL2 steel plate and A537 CL3 steel plate should be quenched and tempered. The tempering temperature of A537 CL2 steel plate is greater than 595 degrees and the holding time is greater than half an hour. The tempering temperature of A537 CL3 steel plate is greater than 620 degrees and the holding time is greater than half an hour.
