A588 grade A weathering steel plate

A588 grade A weathering steel plate refers to adding a small amount of Cu, Cr, Ni and other alloy elements to ordinary low alloy steel to form a dense amorphous oxide layer with strong adhesion to the base metal between the rust layer on the steel surface and the base metal, prevent the infiltration of oxygen and water in the atmosphere into the steel base and reduce corrosion, so as to make a588 grade a weathering steel plate have good corrosion resistance.

However, the cost of Ni element is very high. Under the pressure of cost reduction and efficiency increase, our A588 grade A weathering steel plate has obvious low-cost advantages and meets the market demand.

Cu is the most important and widely used alloy element to improve the atmospheric corrosion resistance of A588 grade A weathering steel plate, because in the process of atmospheric corrosion, Cu acts as an active cathode, which can make the steel produce anode passivation, so as to reduce the corrosion rate of A588 grade A weathering steel plate.
