Information of A588 Grade K Steel Plate

A588 Grade K steel plate is a high strength low alloy structural steel suitable for welding, riveting or bolting.
A588 Grade K steel plates are mainly used for welding bridges and buildings, where convenience is very important in reducing weight or increasing durability. In most environments, the atmospheric corrosion resistance of A588 Grade K steel plate is much better than that of carbon structural steel with or without copper addition.

The executive standard of A588 Grade K steel plate: ASTM A588/A588M.
Delivery status of A588 Grade K steel plate: hot rolled, normalized, tempered, normal + back, quenched and tempered. Different delivery states can be selected according to different needs.

Application range of A588 Grade K steel plate

A588 Grade K steel plates are commonly used in welded, riveted and bolted structures, but are primarily used in welded bridges and buildings where reduced weight or increased life is required. The atmospheric corrosion resistance of A588 Grade K steel plate is significantly better than copper-containing or copper-free carbon structural steel under most environmental conditions. When fully exposed to the atmosphere, A588 Grade K steel plate is suitable for many applications in its bare (uncoated) condition.
