Performance analysis of A709 Grade36 steel plate

American standard bridge steel A709 Grade36 steel plate is a low alloy steel plate. The executive standard of A709 Grade36 steel plate is ASTM A572/A572M.

1. Requirements for tensile performance: For bars (except flat steel) with a thickness or diameter less than 1/2in. (12.5mm) of A709 Grade36 steel with a cross-section less than lin.2 (645mm2), the tensile test does not need to be performed by factory to do.

2. Non-Fracture Critical, T Tensile Members—Structural products ordered for use as non-fracture critical components in tensile members shall be impact tested in accordance with A673/A673M, as specified.

3. Fracture Critical, F Tensile Members—Structural products of tensile members ordered for use as fracture critical assemblies shall be impact tested in accordance with A673/A673M, as specified.

4. When ordered without suffix T or F, T or as listed in the table, impact testing is not required and should only be used as a non-tensile member or secondary member.

5. For steel grades without suffix, their atmospheric corrosion resistance grades are typical copper-free carbon or alloy steels.

6. A709Grade36, 50 (345) and 50W (345W). Non-quenching and tempering HPS50W (HPS345W) and HPS70W (HPS485W) grade steel sampling position, state, test times and preparation of samples should meet the A6/A6M standard requirements.
