Q345A steel information

Q345A steel is a low alloy steel with good strength. Q345A steel is widely used in bridges, vehicles, ships, buildings, pressure vessels, etc.

The steel number of Q345A steel is prefixed with "Q", which represents the yield point of the steel, 345 represents the value of the yield point, and the unit is MPa. For example, Q345 represents a carbon structural steel with a yield point (σs) of 345MPa.

If necessary, the symbol indicating the quality grade and deoxidation method can be marked behind the steel number. The quality grade symbols are A, B, C, D respectively.

In the symbols of the deoxidation method, F stands for boiling steel; b stands for semi-killed steel; Z stands for killed steel; TZ stands for special killed steel, and the killed steel may not be marked with symbols, that is, neither Z nor TZ may be marked. For example, Q235-AF means Grade A boiling steel.

Q345A steel is a low alloy steel material. Low alloy steel refers to alloy steel with less than 5% total alloy elements. Low alloy steel is relative to carbon steel. On the basis of carbon steel, in order to improve the performance of steel, one or several alloying elements are intentionally added to steel. When the amount of alloy added exceeds the usual content of carbon steel normal production methods, the steel is called alloy steel.
