SA283 Grade A steel plate information

SA283 Grade A steel plate is a carbon structural steel plate with medium and low tensile strength. It is an American standard steel plate carbon structural steel.

SA283 Grade A steel plate contains less sulfur, phosphorus and non-metallic inclusions than carbon structural steel, and its mechanical properties are better.

Carbon structural steel can be divided into three categories according to the carbon content: low carbon steel (C≤0.25%), medium carbon steel (C is 0.25-0.6%) and high carbon steel (C>0.6%).
Carbon structural steel is divided into two groups with normal manganese content (0.25%-0.8% manganese content) and higher manganese content (0.70%-1.20% manganese content) according to the manganese content. The latter has better mechanical properties. and processing performance.

Delivery status of SA283 Grade A steel plate: hot rolling, controlled rolling, normalizing delivery.

SA283 steel plate is divided into four grades according to the structural quality of use: A283 Grade A, A283 Grade B, A283 Grade C, A283 Grade D.

The implementation standard of SA283 steel plate: ASTM A283/A283M-03 is equivalent to ASME standard, namely, SA283 Grade A, SA283 Grade B, SA283 Grade C, SA283 Grade D.
