The difference between stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310

Stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310 are common high-temperature stainless steel materials. There are some differences between stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310 in terms of composition, performance and use.

chemical composition
Stainless steel 321 contains 5 times more titanium than carbon, while stainless steel 310 does not contain titanium. In addition, the chromium and nickel contents of stainless steel 321 are relatively high, 17-19% and 9-12%, respectively, while the chromium and nickel contents of stainless steel 310 are 24-26% and 19-22%, respectively.

High temperature performance
Stainless steel 310 is more stable at high temperature than stainless steel 321. At high temperatures of 800 degrees Celsius and above, stainless steel 310 has better oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance than stainless steel 321.

Corrosion resistance
Stainless steel 321 has better corrosion resistance than stainless steel 310. Although stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310 both perform well in some special corrosive environments, stainless steel 310 has better corrosion resistance in some strong corrosive environments due to its high chromium and high nickel content.

Application field
Due to its good high temperature resistance and good corrosion resistance, stainless steel 321 is usually used in pipelines, storage tanks, heaters, automobile exhaust pipes and other applications in high temperature environments. Stainless steel 310 is usually used in high-temperature heating furnaces, stoves, heat treatment equipment, furnace accessories and other applications, especially in high-temperature environments of 800 degrees Celsius and above.

In general, although stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310 are excellent high-temperature stainless steel materials, due to differences in composition and performance between stainless steel 321 and stainless steel 310, it is necessary to pay attention to their characteristics and applicability when choosing in different application fields. scope.
