Welding performance of 10CrMo910 steel plate

10CrMo910 steel plate is a material of alloy steel, commonly used in boilers and pressure vessels. 10CrMo910 steel plate is a high-quality carbon structural steel that appropriately adds alloying elements to improve the mechanical properties, toughness and hardenability of the steel plate. According to the chemical composition of 10CrMo910 steel plate (mainly carbon content), heat treatment process and application, this type of steel can be roughly divided into three types: carburizing, quenching and tempering and nitrided steel.

Brief introduction of welding performance of 10CrMo910 steel plate

When 10CrMo910 steel plate is welded, if the welding rod and wire with the same strength as the base metal are selected, the welded joint will have poor plasticity. The preheating temperature of 400~450℃ is required during welding, the preheating temperature is high, and the construction conditions are poor. The plasticity of the welded joint must be tempered at a high temperature of 740°C for 3H after welding. However, high-temperature preheating and long-term high-temperature tempering will cause obvious softening in the heat-affected zone of 10CrMo910 steel plate welding.

If the 10CrMo910 steel plate chooses the welding rod and wire with lower strength and better plasticity, the preheating temperature will be greatly reduced (actual operation 250~300°C), 700~720°C heat preservation 1H tempering, enough to eliminate welding stress, and will not Cause the welding heat affected zone to soften. Therefore, R317 electrode and H08CrMOA wire are commonly used for welding of 10CrMo910 steel plate.
