What is the welding process of 16Mo3 steel plate

16Mo3 steel plate is a kind of Cr, Mo series low alloy heat resistant steel. It is an important high temperature material. 16Mo3 steel plate is mainly used to manufacture boilers and pressure vessels with good oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.

About welding process of 16Mo3 steel plate
1. It is not allowed to interrupt the thermal cycle during welding of 16Mo3 steel plate, and the interlayer temperature during welding shall not be lower than the preheating temperature.
2. In the welding process of 16Mo3 steel plate, two welders should be arranged to weld symmetrically at the same time with the same speed and parameters to reduce welding deformation.
3. The multi-layer and multi pass 16Mo3 steel plate welding process is adopted, and the welding slag, welding slag and oxide between welded pipe and welding layer are cleaned by grinding wheel, chisel and wire brush. Arc closing is not allowed at the corner of all 16Mo3 steel plate welding joints; all welding joints shall be mismatched by 50mm.

Although the welding of 16Mo3 steel plate is difficult, the welding quality can be effectively guaranteed and the work efficiency can be improved by adopting strict preheating before welding, controlling the channel temperature of 16Mo3 steel plate during welding, and controlling the welding heat after welding.
