304L stainless steel plate is a variety of 304 stainless steel with low carbon content, which is used for welding. The low carbon content in 304L stainless steel plate reduces the precipitation of carbides in the heat affected zone near the weld to the minimum, and the precipitation of carbides may lead to intergranular corrosion (welding erosion) of stainless steel in some environments.
