40Cr alloy steel plate belongs to medium carbon quenched and tempered steel and cold heading die steel. The price of 40Cr alloy steel plate is moderate and easy to process. After proper heat treatment, certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance can be obtained. Normalizing can promote the microstructure refinement, close to the equilibrium state, and improve the cutting performance of the blank. The steel has the best comprehensive mechanical properties when tempered at 550~570℃. The hardenability of 40Cr alloy steel plate is higher than that of 45 steel, which is suitable for high frequency quenching, flame quenching and other surface hardening treatment.
Different uses of 40Cr alloy steel plate
After quenching and tempering, 40Cr alloy steel plate is used for manufacturing mechanical parts which can bear medium load and work at medium speed, such as steering knuckle, rear axle shaft of automobile, gear, shaft, worm, spline shaft and center sleeve of machine tool;
After quenching and tempering at medium temperature, 40Cr alloy steel plate is used for manufacturing parts that can bear high load, impact and work at medium speed, such as gear, spindle, oil pump rotor, slide block, sleeve ring, etc;
After quenching and tempering at low temperature, 40Cr alloy steel plate is used for manufacturing parts with heavy load, low impact, wear resistance and solid thickness less than 25 mm on cross section, such as worm, spindle, shaft, sleeve ring, etc;
After quenching and tempering and high frequency surface quenching, 40Cr alloy steel plate is used to manufacture parts with high surface hardness and wear resistance without great impact, such as gears, sleeves, shafts, spindles, pins, connecting rods, screws, nuts, intake valves, etc.
In addition, 40Cr alloy steel plate is suitable for manufacturing all kinds of transmission parts with carbonitriding treatment, such as gears and shafts with large diameter and good low temperature toughness.
