Generally, a coating or coating is applied to a metal surface to prevent rusting. Galvanized steel sheet is a commonly used coated steel sheet. Usually, the coating is composed of pure zinc, but in order to achieve better corrosion resistance, manufacturers choose to add aluminum to the zinc coating, which is called a zinc alloy coating.
Japan has developed a new alloy coating, which greatly improves the corrosion resistance of the product. In recent years, a new type of steel plate product has been put into the market under the trademark of SuperDymaTM. In the more than 10 years since it was launched, the product has achieved good sales and won high market evaluation.
SuperDymaTM is a new type of galvanized sheet product, its zinc alloy coating contains aluminum, magnesium and silicon. Due to the combined effect of these alloy compositions, the cut edges and flat surfaces of the product exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for environments such as high salt (airborne salts), humidity, alkaline, etc.
The corrosion products of conventional galvanized sheets are coarse and loosely distributed, while those on SuperDymaTM are more dense due to the influence of magnesium, which acts as a protective coating.
In addition, the substrate at the cut edge of the product is exposed to the atmosphere, and red rust occurs in the early stage of exposure. However, the alloying elements of SuperDymaTM dissolve from the coating near the notch and form a dense corrosion product covering the notch. In this way, the spread of the kerf corrosion is effectively suppressed.
