The World Iron and Steel Association announced the latest ranking of the world's 40 major steel-producing countries (regions) in 2022, with China first, India second, Japan third, the United States fourth, and Russia fifth.
In 2022, global crude steel production will be 1.8785 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.2%.
Crude steel production in 10 countries including India, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Pakistan, Argentina, Algeria, and the United Arab Emirates showed a year-on-year upward trend.
Among them, Pakistan's crude steel production increased by 10.9% year-on-year to 6 million tons;
Followed by Malaysia, crude steel production increased by 10.0% year-on-year to 10 million tons;
Iran increased by 8.0% year-on-year to 30.6 million tons; The United Arab Emirates increased by 7.1% year-on-year to 3.2 million tons;
Indonesia increased by 5.2% year-on-year to 15.6 million tons;
Argentina increased by 4.5% year-on-year to 5.1 million tons;
Saudi Arabia increased by 3.9% year-on-year to 9.1 million tons;
Belgium increased by 0.4% year-on-year to 6.9 million tons;
Algeria saw an increase of 0.2% year-on-year to 3.5 million tons.
