World Steel Association releases data on global crude steel production for September 2022. In September, the crude steel output of the 64 countries and regions included in the statistics of the World Steel Association was 151.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
In September, African crude steel output was 1.4 million tons, up 1.0% year-on-year;
Crude steel output in Asia and Oceania was 113 million tons, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year;
The EU (27 countries) crude steel output was 10.7 million tons, down 16.7% year-on-year;
The crude steel output of other European countries was 3.4 million tons, down 18.6% year-on-year;
Crude steel output in the Middle East was 3.8 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%;
North American crude steel production was 9.1 million tons, down 7.6% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine was 6.7 million tons, down 21.9% year-on-year;
Crude steel production in South America was 3.5 million tonnes, down 9.6% year-on-year.
From the perspective of the world's top ten steel-producing countries (regions), in September, China (mainland) crude steel output was 86.95 million tons, an increase of 17.6% year-on-year;
India's crude steel output was 9.9 million tons, an increase of 1.8% year-on-year;
Japan's crude steel output was 7.1 million tons, down 12.3% year-on-year;
U.S. crude steel production was 6.6 million tons, down 7.5% year-on-year;
The estimated output of crude steel in Russia is 5.7 million tons, down 6.8% year-on-year;
South Korea's crude steel output was 4.6 million tons, down 15.4% year-on-year;
German crude steel production was 2.8 million tons, down 15.4% year-on-year;
Turkey's crude steel output was 2.7 million tons, down 19.4% year-on-year;
Brazil's crude steel output was 2.7 million tons, down 11.7% year-on-year;
Iran's crude steel production was 2.7 million tons, up 26.7% year-on-year.
