In order to increase the service life of the die to more than 800000 times, the 42CrMo steel plate can be hardened by quenching and tempering at low temperature. During quenching, the 42CrMo steel plate is preheated at 500-600℃ for 2-4 hours, and then held at 850-880℃ for a certain time (at least 2 hours).
After quenching, the hardness of 42CrMo steel plate can reach 50-52hrc. In order to prevent the cracking of 42CrMo steel plate, it should be tempered at 200℃ immediately. After tempering, the hardness of 42CrMo steel plate can be maintained above 48hrc.
