Process and Treatment of A514 Grade B Steel Plate

Welding process of high-strength quenched and tempered steel A514 steel:
The welding of A514 steel has the problems of cold cracking tendency and embrittlement and softening of heat-affected zone performance. Through the selection of low-hydrogen welding materials, the welding method of small heat input, supplemented by reasonable preheating temperature and process design without heat treatment after welding, and through the welding process qualification test, it is determined to use electrode arc welding and flux-cored wire gas shielding The welding process parameters of welding and solid wire gas shielded welding meet the welding requirements of AWS D1.1 and CCS at the same time.

The production standard of A514GradeB is the standard of the American Society for Testing and Materials, which is suitable for welding high yield strength quenched and tempered alloy steel plates, namely ASTM A514/A514M-05.

A514 GradeB steel plate heat treatment
In order to comply with the specified tensile and Brinell hardness requirements, A514 Grade B steel plates shall be heat treated, that is, the steel plates shall be heated to not less than 1650F (900°C), quenched in water or oil, and tempered at not less than 1150F (620°C).
