SS400 steel application range
SS400 steel is often rolled into wire rod or round steel, square steel, flat steel, angle steel, I-beam, channel steel, window frame steel, etc., and medium and thick steel plates. SS400 steel is used in architectural and engineering structures. SS400 steel is used to manufacture steel bars or to manufacture factory buildings, high-voltage transmission towers, bridges, vehicles, boilers, containers, ships, etc. SS400 steel is also mostly used for mechanical parts that do not have high functional requirements. The C and D grades of SS400 steel can also be used as some professional steels.
SS400 steel surface quality requirements
1. The surface of the steel plate is not allowed to have defects such as cracks, bubbles, scars, folding and doping, which are harmful to use. There shall be no delamination on the sides of the steel plate. If there are any of the above-mentioned surface defects, it is allowed to clean up. The cleaning depth shall be calculated from the actual size of the steel plate, and shall not exceed half of the thickness tolerance of the steel plate, and the minimum thickness of the steel plate shall be ensured. Defect clean up should be smooth without edges and corners.
2. Other defects are allowed to exist, and their depth is calculated from the actual size of the steel plate, and should not exceed half of the allowable thickness tolerance, and it should be ensured that the thickness of the steel plate at the defect is not less than the minimum allowable thickness of the steel plate.
