Q235B The Fundamental Structural Steel in Chinese Standards

Q235B, under GB/T 700, is the most commonly used carbon structural steel in China. With a yield strength of 235 MPa, it offers good ductility, toughness, and weldability. Its chemical composition includes low carbon (≤0.22%), Mn, and Si, with well-controlled levels of S and P.

It is typically delivered hot-rolled, with normalizing optional for improved uniformity. Its excellent weldability makes it ideal for welded structures.

Q235B is widely used in steel buildings, towers, guardrails, plate components, angles, channels, welded structures, and machinery bases. It is one of the most frequently used materials in Chinese engineering projects.
