API 5L grade B steel purpose: for gas, water and oil transportation in oil and gas industry. API 5L grade B steel is prepared and issued by the American Petroleum Institute according to the standard API Spec 5l-2011 (pipeline specification), which is widely used all over the world.
API 5L grade B steel is tempered martensite. Its purpose is to reduce the internal stress and brittleness of API 5L grade B steel quenched steel under the premise of maintaining its high hardness and wear resistance, so as to avoid cracking or premature damage in use. API 5L grade B steel is mainly used for all kinds of high carbon cutting tools, measuring tools, GB/T 9711.1 pipeline steel pipes, rolling bearings and carburized parts. The hardness after tempering is generally HRC58-64.
