According to Jakarta, from January to September 2019, Indonesia's steel product exports increased by 28.86% over the same period last year's US $4.15 billion, becoming US $5.35 billion or equivalent to 75.07 trillion rupiah. The increase in steel exports is due to the surge in stainless steel exports.
"The increase in steel exports is a good signal to the national steel industry, which shows that our competitiveness is good, especially when the International market is in the doldrums," Yerry Idroes, executive manager of the iisia, told reporters.
In the first nine months of this year, steel exports rose almost 30% or $1.19 billion year-on-year, accounting for 4.67% of total non oil and gas exports, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
