When 40Cr steel plate is cooled by water, the shape of parts is complex, easy to produce cracks, and the cold bending plasticity is medium. After normalizing, 40Cr steel plate has good machinability, but the weldability of 40Cr steel plate is poor. It should be preheated before welding, usually used for quenching and tempering.
