35CrMo is an alloyed structural steel

35CrMo is a specification number for an alloy structural steel (alloy tempered steel), which is primarily used for engineering purposes and has high durability and high temperature creep strength, as well as good low temperature impact toughness.

Features of 35CrMo alloy steel:

Strength and toughness: 35CrMo steel has high static strength, impact toughness and high fatigue limit.

Heat resistance: Its long-term working temperature can reach 500°C, with good heat resistance and oxidation resistance.

Hardenability: Its hardenability is higher than 40Cr, and it has high creep strength and lasting strength at high temperatures.

Weldability: However, it should be noted that the weldability of 35CrMo steel is not good, and it needs to be preheated to 150-400°C before welding, and heat treatment is required to remove stress.

The chemical composition of 35CrMo steel mainly includes: Carbon (C) 0.32 0.40%, 0.17 0.37% silicon (Si), manganese (Mn) 0.40 0.70%, sulfur (S) of 0.035% or less, phosphorus (P) of 0.035% or less, chromium (Cr) 0.80 1.10%, 0.15 0.25% molybdenum (Mo).

35CrMo alloy steel can be delivered in a heat treatment (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or no heat treatment state, the specific delivery state shall be indicated in the contract.

Due to its excellent properties, 35CrMo alloy steel is widely used in many fields, including but not limited to:

Mechanical manufacturing: Used to manufacture the main parts that withstand impact, bending and high loads in various machines, such as rolling mill gears, crankshafts, connecting rods, fasteners, etc.

Automotive industry: Used to manufacture automobile engine spindle, bearing, engine transmission parts, etc.

Oil and gas industry: Used in the manufacture of oil well pipelines, oil and gas transmission pipelines and other equipment requiring corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.

Aerospace industry: Because of its good strength and heat resistance, it is used in the manufacture of aircraft engine parts, turbine blades, high-temperature structural parts, etc.
