Characteristics of 30CrMnSiA steel

30CrMnSiA is a medium carbon tempered steel with high strength and good toughness. After the tempering treatment, this steel can obtain high strength and enough toughness, while the hardenability is also good.

Features of 30CrMnSiA steel:

 

High strength: 30CrMnSiA has high tensile strength and yield point, and can withstand large pressure and bending stress.

 

Good workability: The steel has good workability, small processing deformation, and very good fatigue resistance.

 

Welding performance: Although its welding performance is relatively poor, it can still be welded under appropriate process conditions.

 

The chemical composition of 30CrMnSiA mainly includes carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium and other elements. Among them, the carbon content is about 0.3%, the silicon content is about 1.0%, the manganese content is about 1.2%, and the addition of chromium elements improves the strength and corrosion resistance of the steel. In addition, the content of sulfur and phosphorus is low, about 0.03% and 0.02% respectively.

Brinell hardness (HBS100/3000) (annealed or tempered at high temperature) : ≤229

 

Application of 30CrMnSiA steel:

 

Due to its high strength and good processability, 30CrMnSiA is widely used in the manufacture of various shaft and piston spare parts, such as sand wheel shafts, gears, sprockets and so on.

 

The steel is also commonly used in special wear-resistant parts of vehicles such as automobiles and aircraft, such as frames, axle, suspension systems, engine parts, etc.

 

In the field of aviation and military industry, 30CrMnSiA is also widely used, such as the manufacture of aerospace equipment, military equipment, light weapons, heavy weapons, aircraft brake discs and so on.
